Kevin with his IV for his antibiotics (it is in his head because they failed at their other attempts - five times! Poor little pin cushion.)
Kevin telling us all about it.
Sound asleep and probably a little chilly.
Our first family picture!
" Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!... Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin!" This is the song that was chiming from the church bells across from the hospital on Sunday morning - a week after Kevin was born on the day that we were able to bring our little son home. Stepping outside of Sanford Hospital after a week of uncertainty and hearing that song was such a reminder to us of how gracious God has been to us. Kevin is definitely a gift that we don't deserve and -an added blessing- he is a healthy boy too. We praise God for preserving little Kevin and for bringing him through his first week of life safely. Thank you to all of you who have remembered us in your prayers. What a joy to be a family of three now!
For those of you who did not hear, Kevin was air lifted to Sioux Falls the day he was born due to an abnormal heartbeat. There was not much of a concern because babies will normally out grow that, but while being tested they found a possible infection in his blood and wanted to keep him for a week to administer antibiotics. Seth and I went down to meet up with him that afternoon and spent the week there with him. It is good to be back home! Kevin is doing great!
