Hymn of Home

(to the tune of "Be Still My Soul")
"O give us homes built firm upon the Savior,
Where Christ is Head and Counsellor and Guide;
Where ev'ry child is taught His love and favor
And gives his heart to Christ, the crucified:
How sweet to know that tho his footsteps waver
His faithful Lord is walking by his side!
O give us homes with godly fathers, mothers,
Who always place their hope and trust in Him;
Whose tender patience turmoil never bothers,
Whose calm and courage trouble cannot dim;
A home where each finds joy in serving others,
And love still shines, tho days be dark and grim.
O give us homes where Christ is Lord and Master,
The Bible read, the precious hymns still sung;
Where pray'r comes first in peace or in disaster,
And praise is natural speech to ev'ry tongue;
Where mountains move before a faith that's vaster,
And Christ sufficient is for old and young."
"A Christian Home" Jean Sibelius, 1865-1957

Thoughts

"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him."
Lamentations 3:21-24
"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him."
Psalm 62:5
What a rebuke to my selfish, impatient heart.

Production Process

True Story!
Seth was very excited about the new oversize load signs that he got! Not many people can hold an oversize load sign in an arms width!
Here are a few pictures and some video clips of the new equipment. Kevin and I went over to the shop to watch a demo of the grinder. It is a pretty impressive machine. This is the piece of equipment that will produce the wood chips for hauling.

Riverdale Environmental Services Inc. is now in operation! Please pray with us as things get started. All of the equipment is here and now the grinding and hauling will begin. There are so many details involved and my prayer is that God will grant the guys wisdom as decisions are made.

Curtain Crochet

This project will definitely take me a while, but if I consider it to be one of those projects that you just pick up and work on whenever, it makes it seem worth it. If it turns out, I'm hoping to hang it over our big window in the living room.

Girly Gun

I can't believe I'm posting about this! Well... this is my gun. I know, I know! Seth got it for me for my birthday. I told him that the only kind of gun I would ever be interested in would be the teeny tiny ones that can fit in a purse or a pocket. I'm not really a holster person - although it did come with a cute tiny one. While on many of our travels we stopped at quite a few gun places and I was always attracted to the mini guns. Don't worry, I can't carry it until I get a permit - which Seth is also trying to get me to do. We went outside last night and shot it. Wow! for being smaller than my hand it sure is loud! It has a nice flash fire on the end when you shoot! It is a .22lr mini revolver. Isn't it cute!

Cozy Candles

Earlier this winter I had bought one of those huge four wick candles and have since then successfully burned it to its limit. It seemed like such a waste of the leftover wax so I melted it down on the stove and poured it into old salsa jars. The wicks are just braided yarn that I tied a nut to and put in the melted wax and poked the other end through a plastic lid which I placed on top of the jar while it set. Now I have two more candles to burn. Nice!

Poetry

JESUS THINE ALL-VICTORIOUS LOVE
Jesus, thine all-victorious love
Shed in my heart abroad:
Then shall my feet no longer rove,
Rooted and fix'd in God.
O that in me the sacred fire
Might now begin to glow;
Burn up the dross of base desire,
And make the mountains flow.
O that it now from heaven might fall,
And all my sins consume:
Come, Holy Ghost, for Thee I call;
Spirit of burning, come.
Refining fire, go through my heart;
Illuminate my soul;
Scatter Thy life through every part,
And sanctify the whole.
My steadfast soul, from falling free,
Shall then no longer move;
While Christ is all the world to me,
And all my heart is love.
~Charles Wesley, 1707-1788~

Kevin the Kool.

Kevin thought that he had to be like his Papa and wear sunglasses while driving!
This was Sunday morning. Time to get ready for church! Put your smiles on.
That's the way!
This was Sunday evening. Whew! Too much smiling!
He is in his "comfy place". Skip the swing or the bouncer - he wants to be like the big people and sit on the couch.

Time to talk. What a conversationalist!
