Way Out West

Common apparel for Kevin
Makayla thinks that Seth's spurs (which I use for a nice closet decoration) are her own little purses or bracelets. She loves to grab them and tote them all around the house with her.

Birthday Boy (continued)

Kevin is a very color coordinated kind of person. They each had to match their balloons. "Red to red, and yellow to yello. They match!"

Now that my computer is not sick any more and I have a free ten minutes, I am finally able to post the rest of Kevin's birthday. We had a nice time celebrating when Seth got home from work. Kevin was so excited to eat his loader cake. We sang happy birthday, enjoyed some cake and then -at my sister's brilliant suggestion (since I am so boring when it comes to fun things to do)- we played a rousing game of candyland after sending Kevin on a hunt for all the pieces. The family time was very special. Kevin is a blessing to us and we can't imagine life without him. Our prayer is that one day he may come to know and love his heavenly Father by faith in Jesus. May God use us as his family to direct him in the way he should go.

Made-up Monogram

I think I may have finally figured out how to monogram on crochet, after several failed attempts in the past! Simply print off what you want to write, pin it to your project, and use thin yarn to sew right through the paper as you trace the letters with close even stitches. Using the paper keeps the stitches from getting buried in the yarn and the paper punches itself out leaving you with the letters (not machine stitched or anything, but it still gives the same idea).

Birthday Boy

Happy Birthday Kevin! He was thrilled about his loader cake! More celebrating tomorrow when Papa gets home. Wow! He's three!
