Happy Homemaking

One of the happiest sights in the fall is a cupboard full of accomplishment!
 A lovely sight!
 Summer Squash
One can never have too many apples.
First step of homemade laundry detergent. I am thrilled with the results and the money we'll save!
Having been blessed with some lovely material, I enjoyed making some dress clothes that should fit the children well this spring.

There is no other job I can imagine enjoying more than being a homemaker. I am blessed to have a husband who sees value in such endeavors and works hard to provide for us so that I can manage the home free of the anxiety of an outside job.
"Thank you, Father!"

Takes Two

These are two of my favorite recent pictures of the children. I love to see them do things together and have a wonderful time doing them.

Family & Fun

 Brennan's birthday ~ 2 years old!
 Makayla's Birthday ~ 3 years old!
 Mama's Birthday ~ -- years old;o)
Justus's Birthday ~ 18 years old!

Truly this is wishful thinking, but I DID put a few more pictures on here and would love to do more eventually, but even as I am typing I hear a faucet running...
Okay, back again. I thought I'd throw a few pictures of birthdays on here since I missed several of them, and we'll see where it goes from there. We were able to go and celebrate my mom's and brother's birthdays several weekends ago. It was great to see my family again, and unreal to see how fast everyone is growing up. No longer is "home" a place of parents and children - it is now a place of parents and young adults. I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see what life is like for them at this stage day to day ~ quite different from Justus being Christa's Sunshine, and Siahjo being my little buddy. They're SO BIG *sniff*! Such scenes from home make me quite content to revel in my children being small while it lasts. My Kevin is how I remember Josiah!
Anyway, we are doing well. Seth stays quite occupied with Riverdale and has been on a few truck recovery trips over the past months. There are ups and downs, but we praise God for the lessons learned along the way and trust that these ups and downs are a way to help us keep our gaze on Him. I am thirty-one weeks pregnant today, and am excited to meet our new arrival in December. Third trimester aches and exhaustion are very real right now, but nothing unbearable. Kevin is a first grader, and has been an eager student for the most part. He enjoys learning history, and finds it very satisfying to learn a song on the piano and make it sound nice! Makayla is still as talkative as ever with a multitude of "why's". She is working on her alphabet where letter recognition seems to be a small battle that we hope to conquer with much repetition. Brennan is our little "Rumblebuffin" ~ a name he was tagged with after the children burst into laughter over hearing of the giant Rumblebuffin from the Chronicles of Narnia. We joke that he has a lot of rumble in his buffin ~ a go-getter and a clown. A short synopsis to be sure, but hopefully enough of a reminder that we still do exist;o)
