Climbing Cowboy

Tree hangers from the wind storm.
Streblow to the rescue!
So high!
Here are the promised pictures of the tree climbing project. Seth is able to go where the bucket trucks and ladders only wish they could go;o) My job was to man the rope to make sure it didn't get tangled - woohoo. It was neat to watch him climb though. He uses all sorts of rigging, and knows many different kinds of knots that are used for many neat tricks, such as lowering big limbs, descending the tree, and lots of other uses. His climbing saddle is where his buck strap, climbing line, chain saw and all other carabiners attach to. He wears gaffs, or spikes, on his boots for easier climbing. He says it gets harder to climb the tree as the limbs get smaller and smaller and it can be very scary sometimes - especially when you make a cut and the part of the tree you're attached to starts to sway. I suppose that's why they call it a tree saddle. Thanks for all of your hard work Streblow!

I can't decide if it's THIS post or the one before it that says "man of confidence" more! What a good wife to "man the rope" for your man! It's a great picture of what we are supposed to be isn't it-keeping things free of tangles and running smoothly so that he can get the big work done!
