Makayla Mopping

The differences between my boys and my girl are so evident sometimes. Makayla loves to help her Mama do anything whether it be laundry, cooking, dusting, vacuuming etc. How fun to have such a sweet helper.

Finally Four

This is my best attempt at a semi. Kevin requested a blue semi cake for his birthday.

 

Seth drew me a truck so that I could have something to go by. Not bad in my opinion;o)

He's finally four years old after months and months of wishing he was. Kevin has been so excited to turn four and proudly holds up a four when asked how old he is. It's finally true! How special it has been to watch our oldest child grow over the past four years. He is a constant reminder of the joy and responsibility we have as parents. School has been a highlight for him over the past couple months, and it is neat to see him learn and understand more and more. We love you Kevin Charles, and praise our Father for you!

Brennan's Birthday

September 26, 2010 was a special day in our lives. Our baby Brennan Lee was born. He has been such a blessing and joy to us and we can't imagine life without him. We praise God for giving us our third child, and for allowing him to grow under our care. Happy birthday, dear Brennan!

Canning, Cookies, Catsup

 Well, apparently I wasn't quite done canning. Fourteen quarts of apple pie filling, and a bit of ketchup too (a very long process that is almost not worth doing since the shrink ratio is rather extreme, but I find it rather tasty and had 24 tomatoes begging to be used) should mean I'm done, especially since I'm out of jars... although I still have a few pint jars... no, I shall refrain... for now;o)

 Another project I enjoy is using up leftover candle wax to make new candles. I buy the big 3-wick candles when they are on sale and once they are done burning I turn them into a whole new candle. If anything makes me feel cozy in my house it is a burning candle, especially the fallish fragrances.

Seth was working late last night so I decided it was time for gingersnaps to give the full autumn ambiance to my late, chilly, candle-lit night. Not the hard crunchy gingersnaps -oh no! The soft, melt in your mouth yummy kind. Fall is not the same without them.

Kevin started school on the 6th. We have been enjoying learning letters, numbers, and piano. So far he has been a very good and eager student, and I am really looking forward to watching him progress.

Pretty Patio

From way back in the spring, my $10 find on top of my freshly built patio. I love the French cafe look and was thrilled to find it. My patio is one of my favorite places to be.

Canning & Cold-packing

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! This is some of what has kept me from blogging as of late. Peaches, peach jam, grape jam, tomatoes, salsa, tomato sauce, beans, applesauce, carrots... more canning and freezing than I've ever done. It has been so fun! I enjoy stocking up for winter. And I enjoy being done;o) My "pantry" is full, and I am happy.

Table Transformation

We were blessed with a dining room table from some friends, and I enjoyed stripping, sanding, staining, and varnishing the top. It is nice and sturdy and oh-so-pretty!

Charity Chopped It

Hello all. It's me. Yes, I cut my hair! Gasp!!! No, I don't like it better than long hair. It falls forward far too often. Long hair is so much easier to do. I find myself running out of length for all of the styles I used to do. But, I do enjoy the lightweight feel, and the smaller amount of shampoo. Most of all, three babies later and a couple of anesthesia situations that make one shed worse than a dog, shedding isn't quite as... irritating. So there you have it. The "new" me.

Safer Settings

I believe I fixed the problem... maybe. Now you should be able to view my blog- at least those of you I had an email for. Just trying to tighten my security settings from strange people viewing my blog. No, I wasn't intentionally keeping some of you from viewing my blog, just the strange people;o) I'll be posting again in the near future I hope. Life is full of canning and freezing right now, so blogging has to wait. Til the next post...
